How to manage multiple job offers.

It’s a pretty good time to be in ecommerce. The job market is still hot, brands are starting to invest in training and I bet your LinkedIn inbox is still full of messaged from recruiters! It’s a great time to be on the market for a new role in ecommerce. But with all these opportunities knocking on your door, what do you do if you manage to land…more than one great new gig? How do you manage multiple offers without burning any bridges? Here are some insider tips:

DO

  • Know what you want.
Make a list of what's important to you and stick to it. Try not to get swayed by flashy job ads; you might end up in a role you never imagined.

  • Know your worth.
Have a salary range in mind that reflects your value. Check with peers, look at similar job ads, or chat to our team for insider insight.

  • Be honest and upfront.
Focus on building your story and the value you bring. Avoid concocting stories to pit offers against each other.

  • Meet the team.
If you're torn between a couple of opportunities, talk to the teams. Even do a test run of your commute and chek out the office. It's the best way to figure out what's right for you.

DON'T

  • Feel locked in.
You're not obligated to accept any offer. Take your time and do what's right for you.

  • Enter a standoff.
Treat each opportunity on its own merits. Don't play employers against each other.

  • Ghost.
Be honest and direct if you decide an opportunity isn't for you. It's respectful and keeps doors open for the future.

In the end, when you have multiple offers, it's like navigating a busy coffee line: know what you want and treat people well. Enjoy the process; having so many options is a great opportunity, not a burden!
